Where do I go when I get to the Convention Centre?

The Congress Registration Desk is located on the Foyer Level opposite the main entrance doors. Staff from Carillon Conference
Management will be available to assist delegates throughout the Congress here.

Opening Times

Sunday 1 August

2.00 pm until 7.00 pm  (Welcome Reception commences at 5.30 pm in Exhibition Hall 1)

Monday 2 August
7.00 am to 6.00 pm

Tuesday 3 August - Friday 6 August
7.30 am to 6.00 pm

 

Where is the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre

The Congress will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre located on the cocern of Merivale and Glenelg Streets, South Brisbane.

Posters

If your Paper has been accepted for "Poster Presentation" please note the following:-

  • Posters are to be made in AO size and in portrait orientation - A0 dimensions are 84.1 cm x 118.9 cm (841 mm x 1189 mm)
    or in inches 33.1 x 46.8.
  • Please include on the poster a photo of the presenting author  that is no more than 10cm high x 8cm wide displayed on the top right hand side of the poster.
  • Details of the time and location for your Poster Presentation will be emailed to you the week commencing 12 July 2010.

Registration

Question           How do I register for the Congress?
Answer Please go to the Registration Section of this website.  Delegates can register on-line using a credit card.  Or, delegates can complete the Registration Form and submit it via fax, post or email for processing with either credit card payment details, a cheque or money order in Australian Dollars or via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
Question Can I register now and pay later?
Answer No, only registrations forms accompanied by full payment will be processed.  Registration fees must be paid when submitting your registration form.
Question
Is it possible to use one credit card to pay for registration and another for accommodation or tours or social bookings?
Answer Yes it is, simply enter the two different cards on the on-line form or on the printed (PDF) form
Question
What are the conditions for a Student Registration?
Answer
Delegates registering as a student must forward a copy of their current student ID card.  Students must be enrolled in full time undergraduate or postgraduation study to qualify for the student concession. 

Accommodation

Have special Congress accommodation rates been secured at Brisbane hotels? 
Answer       
Yes, a great range of accommodation is being held for Congress delegates.  To access these special rates you must book your accommodation through the Congress Secretariat when you Register for the Congress.  Many hotels are already full, please refer to the ACCOMMODATION page for more information

Weather

Brisbane is located in the subtropics and enjoys a superb climate year round. August in Brisbane: days are typically dry and sunny with approximately 8.5 hours of sunshine a day; and the nights are mild. August temperatures typically reach 22°C (71°F) during the day and fall to approximately 10°C (50°F) at night. If you plan to travel to southern Australia additional warm clothing may be required. Those travelling north will experience a progressively warmer climate where lighter clothing will be required.
