scientists presenting papers at the 19th World Congress of Soil Science
in Brisbane, Australia, August 1-6, 2010. This program is open to any
student or early career scientist enrolled at or employed by a U.S.
institution. Early career scientists are defined as those within 5
years of receiving their Ph.D. Only the presenter of the paper will be
awarded the fellowship and the presenter must be the senior author of

person. The number of fellowships to be awarded will depend on the
availability of funds.
The following criteria will be used to rank applications:

- Outline
of your financial plan for attending the meeting (including other
sources of funding available to you to cover these costs).
- Endorsement of faculty advisor or supervisor.

Each
fellowship recipient will pay for his or her own travel expenses and
registration. The fellowships will be awarded before the
congress. Within two months after the congress, grantees will be
expected to provide a trip report of their activities at the
congress. The trip report will summarize their view of how they
